hey! how r u? i am doin better today but yesterday was miserable! my horse coliced! she got colic at my state horse show! i can't believe it! my friends and their parents and like a bunch of people were helping us pack up in case we had to go to the hospital and they all helped with my horse. 2 of my friends the night before told me that she was showing signs of colic. we walked her around. because of them we were able to anticipate it. we didn't suspect it because it got better after a couple hours but thursday at 4:00 AM my dad saw dipper acting strange and laying down. he walked her from 4:00 to 5:30. i walked her for a while and scrathed from the compeition. we put her back in her stall to see how she acted and she was kicking and biting at her stomach and laying down. we could tell she was in pain so we called the vet from the fancy equine services place. our vet died 3 to 4 years ago and we haven't needed one since cuz they were perfectly healthy. we got some recomendations and since equine services were too expensive we found one who is really nice. she is way better and works at the equine center at the stables my friend used to bored their horse. we will go to her if something else happens. we had the equine services girl come and she gave her some medicine. she sedated her and she put on an arm length glove and stuck her arm in her rear end to feel in her intestines. then gave her some medicine through a tube she stuck up her nose and through her body. she talked to my parents and said that there was a surgery for $3000-$5000 but if the medicine didn't work we might have to put her down. luckily my friends, their parents, and ,y parents and me did everything in our power to help her. she is better now! thank god for helping her! he let her stay with me! both vets said that it was because of stress! when we got home after my sis competed we put her in the field. she trotted and jumped over a log and then started galloping around! she got her appetite and energy back, went to the bathroom so her intestines aren't clogged and she is healthy! this weekend i want to take her to the vet for a check up just in case and i am giving her a couple weeks off. for the next few shows i will be barrel racing on my sister's palimino paint horse Twister! i was curled up crying like a baby and she is saved!
